In the first week of the New Year, President Obama made a statement that moved many to shed a tear. He spoke candidly about what it meant to have no control over the actions of others – those who mean to do harm to the innocent. He spoke of the Sandy Hook tragedy, of the college students in Santa Barbara, and the high schoolers from Columbine and during it all – he cried.
Having a president cry is as bad as watching your father cry. In short, it does not do you any good to just ignore it. In the spirit of community, many people vowed to put an end to gun violence and to keep their people safe. But did anyone notice how wonderfully rehearsed the whole scenario was?
Our president spoke about gun control. Standing in front of the people whose loved ones were lost, he did one thing that we all hate. He emotionally manipulated us. Gun control is all about keeping ammunitions away from those who know how and when using them is right. Our history has used firearms to win wars, and with the ban on carrying firearms, our own government not only denies us our own rights but it also turns its back on the history that has brought us the freedom which we exercise today. All because of a few idiots who can’t handle guns.
Firearms are just tools. We’ve had people kill others with swords, poison and knives. Simply banning guns is not going to make our community safe. Our dear president tried to make us feel sad because he used emotional manipulation to prove his point; but the truth is, he’s simply trying to save his own hide. With the world entering a new year, his time is coming to an end, and frankly speaking, those who fell for his dramatics should know better than to fall for these antics.
Excerpt: Crying won’t keep people from dying, Mr. President. And neither will gun control.
